With Leicester Freshers Week sorted, we wanted to put together a quick and handy guide to some of the best student nights in Leicester for you.
Whether you’re looking to rock the night away, have a chilled one or pull an all-nighter to some top tunes, we’ve found a place in the city for you. Luckily, at Merlin Heights, you’ve always got stylish social spaces as well as two stunning roof terraces to start the evening off right.

Monday: Club Republic
Skint Mondays at Club Republic has been one of the best student nights in Leicester for years, and with good reason. Not only does it bring together both Leicester uni and DMU students, you can grab yourself a double vodka and a mixer for just £2.50. Get the week started by dancing the night away in a choice of four club rooms offering up huge DJ sets.

Tuesday: Mosh
Mosh Tuesdays are ideal for anyone looking for a more alternative night out – after all, the clue is in the name! Having said that, there’s something for everyone at Mosh on Tuesdays. You’ll find dance, hip hop and R&B, as well as big mosh-worthy anthems across three floors. Not only that, drinks start from just £2 and shots from £1 so you’re in for a cheap, fun night out.

Wednesday: O2 Academy
The official Leicester uni student night happens at the O2 Academy every Wednesday. LETSDISKO is essentially one huge party with a massive dance floor and state-of-the-art video DJ technology that streams across LED screen-filled walls for a totally immersive experience. You can enjoy classic anthems from the noughties and a room dedicated to old school hip hop, garage and R&B well into the early hours. There’s also a free party bus to get to and from the O2, so no need to worry about taxis home!

Thursday: The Basement
Your weekend can officially start at The Basement – Leicester’s premier late night bar offers up the very best hip hop, R&B and house tunes well into the early hours. While we’d also recommend Turn It Up Tuesdays at The Basement as a good student night in Leicester to check out, Thirsty Thursdays are a great break from old school music and for something a bit more modern. You can also enjoy a huge range of deals on drinks including £1.50 shots or 5 for £5.

Friday: Soar Point
One of the most popular student pubs in Leicester, Soar Point is ideal for cheap drinks, good food and live sport – you can also add it to the list of best bottomless brunch spots in Leicester. However, one of the best things about Soar Point is all the discounts and deals you can take advantage of as a student in Leicester just by joining their Uni Crew. After a busy week it’s a great spot to sit and chill with your mates, particularly as it sits on the scenic River Soar.

Saturday: Fan Club
If Saturday is your night to just absolutely let your hair down and dance the night away to some of the best (and worst…) of the 90s music scene, then Fan Club is where you need to be. With discounts on drinks before midnight, cheap entry and late opening, there’s a lot of fun to be had and dancing to be done.
